Other Ways to Lose Health Chips:

  • If we do not eat enough foods containing critical micronutrients we leak another 1,000 to 3,000 chips per day (fruits and vegetables).
  • If we eat a diet high in saturated fat, sugar, charred foods, low fiber, and skip breakfast we leak another 1,000 to 3,000 chips per day.
  • If we don't exercise at all we leak 3,000 chips per day.
  • If we are exposed to too much sun we leak 1,000 per day.
  • If we inhale or take in smog, pesticides, food additives etc. we may leak up to 10,000 chips per day.
  • If we have a mild illness we leak 5,000 and a serious illness up to 100,000 chips.
  • If we smoke a pack a day we leak 10,000 chips per day. After 40 years this totals 150,000,000 chips!

Some activities make us leak all our
chips at once! (accidents)

Stress and depression may cause significant leaks.

At slightly over 60 years:

If one started with only 200 million chips, life would be over at this point.

From this you can see how easy it is to become "chip deficient". We all know people who abused themselves squandering their chips over 70 or 80 years yet still are in vigorous health. They are the ones who started with the largest buckets of chips. Many more, however, behaving similarly have died or become disabled prematurely. We do not know how many chips we started with or how many are left.

All buckets leak. Many of the leaks can be repaired or at least made smaller. Repairing or improving leaks is important at any stage of life.

Using this crude format you can see that many people run out of chips fairly early in life. Others subject themselves to risks that are not necessary and they make no attempt to minimize the effects of aging.

We care for expensive equipment extremely carefully. When we buy a new car we realize that it starts aging immediately. Even a new car, that is never used, has aging changes in its metal and synthetic parts. It would be remarkable if after 50 years a never used car would even start! We know to use the recommended oil change and gas octane to maximize the lifetime of a car.

Yet we tend to neglect the proper care and feeding of our bodies!!
